The Story About That, 2023
3 inkjet prints, 172.5×116mm each
Concept
Three photographs are installed at the staircase that is connecting each floor of the exhibition space. The scene, similar to that of the well-known painting, invites the imagination about the stone-like object above people’s heads. Is it a Ya’ana-ishi(arrow hole stone) brought from Kyoto, Kizugawa, or the islands? Or is it a bird-eating Kaeru-ishi(frog stone) from a folk tale? Or is it just a balloon? This stone-like object may be asking you about our future, just like a fortune telling stone which you have to speculate its weight.
