Concept
Information booths and workshop spaces created by NO ARCHITECTS with mainly using scrap wood and old materials.
A video work by a filmmaker HAYASHI Yuki. A new work that was created for this art festival, “Past and Present” produced in collaboration with NO ARCHITECTS and HAYASHI Yuki will be exhibited.
Umeda, where Grand Front Osaka stands, was once a marshy area. Images reminiscent of the landscape of that time are reflected on the glass surfaces of the buildings. The glass surfaces become a boundary/screen where time overlaps and blends.
Profile
Architect, Co-led by Hiroshi Nishiyama and Keiko Okudaira. They completed graduate studies at Kobe Design University in 2009 together and started working as “nishiyamahiroshiokudairakeiko”. NO ARCHITECTS was established with the relocation of its office to Konohana-ku, Osaka in 2011. Based on architecture, they have a wide range of activities including design, installation, workshop, venue composition, and community development. They also collaborate with musicians, artists, photographers, playwrights, poets, dancers, and others, and organize exhibitions and events across a wide range of fields. Their publications include “NO BOOK” (OOO PRESS) and “REMIX TOWN” (RAD). Currently part-time lecturers at Kinki University, Setsunan University, and Kyoto University of Art.
