Gallery Introduction | The company operates a private gallery featuring vintage 20th century Scandinavian furniture and functional arts that combine practicality and artistry, such as lighting fixtures and ceramics, along with high quality architectural spaces. Scandinavian furniture is very suitable for traditional Japanese architectural spaces, and many Scandinavian designers have been inspired by Japanese design, such as the unique techniques and forms of Japan. This time, we will focus on the rare vintage works of world-renowned designers Poul Kjærholm and Poul Henningsen. We believe that this exhibition will also provide an opportunity to introduce the affinity of Japanese contemporary art, and will be organized to further disseminate and promote awareness of the exhibition in Japan. |

MEDEL GALLERY SHU
Gallery Introduction | The word “MEDEL” in the gallery name comes from the Japanese word “Aideru”, which means to praise and savor the beauty of things. We named the gallery MEDEL with the hope that through the act of admiring and caring for the one and only art, a joyful exchange will be established between the artist, the viewer, and the gallery. Also, “SHU” means “celebration,” and we hope to provide a place and opportunity for “festivities” around art. We define artists’ activities and works of art as an asset for the people of our time and a light for the future of society, and we hope to establish a market and art historical reputation that will last for generations to come, while appreciating works of art with an original style that will remain in people’s hearts, our mission is to establish a market and an appreciation of art history that will last for generations to come. Through our activities, we are more than happy to contribute to the development of a diverse social climate that accepts creative expression. |

NIJIGEN-HA
Gallery Introduction | The Nijigen-ha artists are mainly digital natives in their 20s and 30s who are familiar with two-dimensional culture, but they also share three common characteristics. First, the motifs and themes depicted are taken from everyday life. Rather than entrusting their works with strong messages about politics or social issues, the artists have chosen concepts from more personal experiences and details of their daily lives, which has allowed them to gain sympathy and familiarity beyond their nationality or cultural background. Next, the artists’ backgrounds. The artists of the Nijigen-ha school do not necessarily have an academic art education based on the premise of Western art history. Some of them have built their careers as designers, illustrators, and other commercial professionals, and they have new ideas that are not bound by the existing framework and values of the art industry. |
